This new version has slight modifications to make everything about it better. First, the blade is just a bit longer, which makes it look and perform better. The jimping was repositioned and updated. The finger choil was widened slightly to make it safer. Then the handles are a bit thicker with a better contour to make them much more comfortable for long use. The new finish is Cerakote instead of powder coat, and now it has a Coyote Tan Kydex sheath with a rotating clip. The Scandi Woodsman was first introduced at the 2014 Blade Show held in Atlanta. Many of the people that stopped by our booth were impressed by the elegant, yet functional design. The inspiration for this knife came from its sister, the LIONESS. We received a lot of comments letting us know that you wanted something similar to the Lioness that didn't have the Tactical Pink coating, so here it is. The handle was specifically designed so it would fit well in smaller hands, but we've seen that it fits perfectly in larger hands, too, so most people can pick it up and use it comfortably. The shape of the blade has a lot of belly, which makes it a very handy skinner. The Scandi Woodsman will also prove to be extremely useful for a variety of bushcraft or camping tasks. The finger guard is very aggressive, decreasing the risk of losing the grip and accidentally cutting fingers, which makes it great for beginners. Skullcrusher’s Xtreme Sidekick has now been developed as just that, a sidekick to the SXB. The SXS is a “small” version of the SXB meant to complement it while out in the field. Small to EJ, and when compared with the SXB, but most will consider this a mid-sized knife. The Tracker Scout is a great companion knife to the Tom Brown Tracker knife. It is a small, drop point knife that is outstanding all by itself, but when paired with the Tracker, it can handle smaller, lighter tasks for which the Tracker may be too large. So, The Bestia was born by melding El Chete - already one of TOPS' most popular workhorses - with a kukri, to create a true beast in chopping ability. The long, forward curved blade and weight behind it bites deep with each swing and the tan traction powder coating will protect the blade for years to come. The handle is also long enough to hold in 2 positions. One for full on chopping and one for more controlled and even fine cuts. What really makes this knife comfortable to wield are the sandwiched Micarta handles that are thick, but well-contoured. The open-backed Kydex sheath with a leather dangler attachment make it easy to carry given its size.
